Chris established the world’s first social engineering penetration testing framework at www.social-engineer.org, providing an invaluable repository of information for security professionals and enthusiasts. That site grew into a dynamic web resource including a podcast and newsletter, which have become staples in the security industry and are referenced by large organizations around the world.
Chris specializes in understanding how malicious attackers exploit human communication and trust to obtain access to information and resources through manipulation and deceit. His goal is to secure companies by educating them on the methods used by attackers, identifying vulnerabilities, and mitigating issues through appropriate levels of awareness and security.
AJ, when asked why she wanted to help, said, “As a mother, I was devastated to find out the number of children victimized each year. Simply put, I could not walk away from the crucial work that ILF is doing. My heart wouldn’t let me.”
Besides being a busy actress, mother of two amazing sons and wife to an active and positive husband, she is helping lead the way to saving children from the atrocities of exploitation.
Further, his tools have been featured on a number of TV shows and movies, and he served as Technical Consultant for the critically acclaimed Mr. Robot TV show. David co-authored ‘Metasploit: The Penetration Testers Guide’ and co-founded the ‘Penetration Testing Execution Standard’ (PTES), which is the industry standard for penetration tests and has been adopted by the Payment Card Industry (PCI). David is the creator of several popular open-source tools, including ‘The Social-Engineer Toolkit’ (SET), PenTesters Framework (PTF), Artillery, and Fast-Track. In addition to focusing on research, David has released a number of security advisories, including zero-days.
Dr. Ward holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Southern California (USC) with a dual emphasis in clinical neuroscience and behavioral genetics. She has devoted her research and professional consulting to the study of predatory criminals and psychopathic behavior. Early in her career, Dr. Ward was involved in one of the first studies to use Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) on murderers and non-murderers to identify structural differences in the brains of these groups of people. She also assisted her colleagues at USC in launching The Southern California Twin Project, which set out to identify biological characteristics and environmental underpinnings of psychopathic behavior in people before adulthood. Dr. Ward has published numerous articles related to psychology and complex human behavior and has used her extensive background in psychology, genetics, and biology to become one of the first scientists to identify potential future predatory behaviors in a population of children. Today, she is widely sought after to assist in the criminal trials of some of the nation’s most notorious offenders.
